This March, a select group of my piano students had the absolute privilege of participating in a master class with Canadian composer Andrea Dow. Nine students have been hard at work preparing a composition by Ms. Dow, and were then given encouraging feedback from the composer herself.
Her generosity, knowledge, and spirit were unmatched. Their performances were deemed "flawless," "masterful," "magical," and even "the best performance I've heard of this piece!"
Many students were deeply touched by the opportunity and supportive nature of Andrea's class. As a studio we sent a thank you note to the composer, and several were so inspired they learned additional compositions by Andrea and are now performing them for the spring recital.
Congratulations to all the participants, and we look forward to another guest composer class in the upcoming semester!
